Carson CityCarson City, formally the Consolidated Municipality of Carson City, is an unaligned city and the capital of the state of Nevada. The majority of the community of the City inhabits in Eagle Valley, on the to the east brim of the Carson variety, a agency of the Sierra Nevada. Carson City is about 30 miles (50 km) south of Reno and began as a stopover for California compelled emigrants, but evolved into a city with the Comstock Lode, a silver hit in the mountains to the northeast. The City has assisted as the capital of Nevada since statehood in 1864 and for much of its annals was a hub for the Virginia and Truckee trains, although the pathways were taken in the 1950s. Prior to 1969, Carson City was furthermore the shire seat of Ormsby shire. In 1969, the county was eradicated and Carson City and a few little surrounding towns inside the former shire were amalgamated into a freshly formed unaligned city called Carson City Consolidated Municipality. With the consolidation, the City limits today extend west across the Sierra Nevada to the California state line in the middle of Lake Tahoe.
